Teen Mom OG star Amber Portwood recently announced that her dog is going through a critical disease. The disease almost killed the dog and now, her dog is undergoing chemo therapy.
Amber Portwood noticed during the onset of summer that there’s something wrong with her 4-year-old English Mastiff, Madison. She was not in her usual cheerful and jolly mood but rather slow and cranky. It was very out of character for Madison and hence, the star got concerned.
Sometime later, Amber Portwood noticed red spots on her dog’s stomach. Those spots soon turned into bruises and Madison started vomiting blood. She immediately took her to the nearest veterinarian in Indianapolis. Her dog was diagnosed with a condition here she had zero platelets in her blood.
Madison was diagnosed with Immune Mediated Thromocytopenia (ITP). The disease causes the immunity system to attack the platelets. This was causing internal bleeding in Madison. Soon after the diagnosis, Madison underwent multiple tests and X-Rays and started chemo therapy. Madison is healthy now and Amber Portwood requests dog owner to be extra careful with their furry babies.
