Stephenie Meyer Releases Midnight Sun After 12 Years – Sells More Than 1 Million Copies

It has been 15 years since Twilight novel series released. The four part vampire love story had impacted the entire teenage generation back in 2005. Stephenie Meyer had become the international bestseller back then and created a legacy of her own. The movie adaptation of Twilight franchise gave us two amazing stars – Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.

15 years later, Stephenie Meyer has released Midnight Sun – the retelling of Twilight from Edward’s point of view. The book has sold more than 1 million copies in the United States in just one week since it’s release on August 4. Midnight Sun is also the international bestselling novel in the U.K., Holland, Brazil, France, and Germany.

Midnight Sun was supposed to release in 2008. However, she had to drop the plan because the first draft of her novel had accidentally been leaked. She stated that it was infringement of her privacy and she’d probably finish the book once everyone has forgotten about it. Back then, it was considered that Meyer will never complete the novel.

But, Meyer recently announced that she has completed Midnight Sun and will release it very soon. She mentioned that there are plenty of people who have waited for more than a decade for it. Midnight Sun is their delayed gratification! There are rumors that there will be more in the series. While there will be no movie, we might get to see more of Edward and Bella’s love story.
