He announced the news about his sexuality via an Instagram story. He said that the he was not trying to look confused or edgy and sharing the story to fight stereotypes.

He said that he wants to fight the the assumptions of being straight and bisexual. He said got the realization and urge to come out while he was talking to a colleague. He said he was discussing a trip he had taken with an ex-girlfriend and got tired of treating it like his whole story.

He explains that his reason to stay silent for so long was to not breech his privacy. He also feared that by coming out, his ‘masculinity’ will be discussed and his privilege will be lost. He feared because a lot of stigmas like infidelity and deception are associated with bisexuality.

But, he realized that his silence questions the bisexuality and people consider it bi invisibility – like they don’t even exist. He says that labels are frustrating but he has always known that he’s bisexual and not edgy, confused or disloyal. Bisexuals are individuals who are attracted to more than one gender and they’re often criticized for their dual choices even within the LGBTQ+ community.
