Robert Pattinson Tests COVID-19 Positive Amid ‘The Batman’ – Production Halts

‘Twilight’ fame Robert Pattinson tested positive for novel coronavirus. The news came as a shock and soon after the positive results, the production of ‘The Batman’ was paused. The decision was announced by Warner Bros Studio that Matt Reeves directed project, starring Pattinson as Batman, is on halt for now.

Initially the production company only said that a ‘crew member’ has been tested positive and did not reveal the name. However, it was later confirmed that it’s Rob Pattinson who has contracted the virus. Robert is self-isolating and following the protocols of the safety measures issued.

The movie had restarted its shooting in August after a 5 months hiatus. The filming was paused previously in March due to the outbreak of the pandemic. Apart from Rob, actors Zoe Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, and Andy Serkis are also part of the star cast. So are Coling Farrell and Barry Koeghan.

The first trailer of ‘The Batman’ dropped in August at DC FanDome. As per the trailer, the movie follows the very initial years of Bruce Wayne as the black cape vigilante. The movie is scheduled to premiere in October 2021. There is no changes announced in its release date.
