Joining the list of events like Google I/O and San Diego Comic Con, New York Comic Con has also been canceled. The news came directly from the organizers who announced on August 11, that NYCC 2020 will not be run. The news comes as no surprise as the recent pandemic has put everything in the world on hold.
New York Comic Con is usually held at Manhattan’s Javits Center. This year, however, instead of running physically it will be organized virtually. The online event has come into a partnership with YouTube and will be held from October 8 to October 11. As of now, we do not know completely what the event has in store for the fans.
The virtual experience of New York Comic Con is definitely going to be different from the physical experience. The major factor of the event was the fans dressing up as their favorite fictional characters. The organizers also understand that the fans will not be able to enjoy the same way.
However, they guarantee that the new elements in the virtual experience is going to compensate for more than that. And more than anything else, the experience is going to be safe and no fan will have any threat of security breach.
