The much awaited sequel of Netflix ‘The Haunting Of Hill House’, ‘The Haunting of Bly Manor’ is here. The one minute and twenty seconds trailer is as creepy as we can expect from maker Mike Flanagan and producer Trevor Macy. The series is all set to release on the streaming platform on October 9.
‘The Haunting of Bly Manor’ is set in the 1980s in England. The haunted mansion’s basement is full of dolls that are, obviously, haunted and get to life in the dark. We can also see some really strange kids, creepy lullabies, floating bodies, and of course, the grand architecture of Bly Manor.
The synopsis of the show reads that after the death of a couple, Henry Thomas hires an American nanny, Victoria Pedretti. Victoria has to take care of Henry’s niece and nephew, Amelia Smith and Benjamin Ainsworth. She lives in the manor with house chef, Rahul Kohli, groundskeeper Amelia Eve, and housekeeper, T’Nia Miller. The story gets sinister when the past of love and loss comes out in the open.
It is to note that once again, the show is displaying how people of color were used as helps for the white people back in the 80s. We might get a glimpse of ‘Get Out’ in the upcoming show. However, the show is partly based on the novel ‘The Turn of the Screw’ by Henry James.
