Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood Season 6 is an American reality show that premiered on August 5, 2019. It is the third installment of the franchise and the others are Love & Hip Hop: New York, Atlanta, and Miami.

The show is full of entertainment and features the budding and rising stars of the music industry. The singers and rappers showcase their personal as well as professional lives. In the common man’s term, the show is full of scandals, affairs, fun, music, and struggles. And if that’s not the recipe for entertainment, we don’t know what is.

Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood Controversies

Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood Season 6 is as real and raw it can get. The celebrities and young talents that appear on the show are judged and closely inspected by the audience for their real personalities. The artists speak their mind and do what they want, which in most of the events turn out to be controversial. There have been several controversies related to the show and yet its popularity has not faded at all. Well, we like to call it our guilty pleasure and a little indulgence harms no one.

In the first year of the show itself, one of the cast members, Yung Berg was arrested on the charges of alleged assaulting. During the shooting of a reunion special, Yung reportedly assaulted his girlfriend and another cast member, Masika. Soon after the arrest, the channel issued a statement saying that they have fired Yung from the show. When the reunion was aired, there was a public service announcement regarding domestic violence and condemning Yung’s behavior.

In 2015, Hazel E, one of the important cast members of the show quit the series citing unfair credits. She called the series a freak show and expressed her frustration on the issue that she wasn’t being given enough credit. Masika rejoined the show after a season of absence after the assault.

In 2016, another controversy stirred up when Soulja Boy posted a video on his social media handle. The video featured him with a gun (no kidding!) threatening to kill his girlfriend, Nia Riley, and her new rumored boyfriend. The stunt was enough for the channel to cut all ties from him. VH1 removed all scenes of Soulja Boy from the episodes.

In 2017, Masika Kalysha broke the fourth wall several times and threatened the production house with a legal notice. The reason was her demotion to supporting cast. According to her, the demotion was very sudden, at the last moment, and on the grounds of refusing to talk about her rival, Alexis Skyy. Hazel was finally fired from the show in 2017. The reason was the star’s violent behavior, her spat with almost every other co-star, and her homophobic and racist remarks.
