John Oliver has helped people understand the same by revealing the ugly reality of the criminal justice system. He enlightened the people with the help of surveys and reports that black people are refrained from the jury panel. According to the Sixth Amendment, everyone has a right to trail by jury.

The jury panel is decided by private companies with the help of algorithms and computer programs. However, these programs have meticulously helped in eradicating the inclusion of African-American people from the panel. According to survey shown by John Oliver, the number of Latin and black people are reduced significantly from jury. This increases the chances of convicting a black person.

The so-called program can be full of errors, according to surveys shown by John Oliver. It has included a 9-year-old into the panel and excluded 63 percent of capable black jurors.
